Throwback Thursday

This week’s Throwback Thursday takes us back to 1989. My friend Mary and I decided to spend the day in Sundown, NY. We spent many, many days up in Sundown enjoying the cool mountain air and climbing among the rocks. On this particular day, we had a camera and an idea. Rock bowling was born. This was not surprising considering Mary’s love for bowling. Of course, she would find a way to bowl anywhere. One of my goals for this coming summer is to go get Mary and head to Sundown.

Throwback Thursday

This week takes us back to Sundown, NY in 1988. These pictures are from the very first time my friends and I went camping by ourselves. We all piled into my orange Chevy Malibu and headed up to the mountains for a couple of days shortly after graduating from high school. I didn’t take too many pictures (okay, there are more. I just don’t want to embarrass my friends). I probably ran out of film or I was having too much fun. The most tragic part of our trip was the loss of our bacon. We kept it in the stream to keep it cold and it got away in the night. That day we drove down to the nearest town for giant ice cream cones to console ourselves. That trip was just one of many fun trips to Sundown.
